TO NY WITH LOVE - SCHIAPPARELLI AND PRADA: IMPOSSIBLE CONVERSATIONS

Per i lettori più attenti forse questo post non sarà così inaspettato! Come vi avevamo anticipato, eccoci di nuovo a parlare di Elsa Schiapparelli insieme ad un'altra fashion Icon.
Ebbene sì, grazie ad un breve soggiorno a NY ho avuto modo di visitare questa stupenda mostra (purtroppo era proibito fare foto... ci ho provato ma non è andata a buon fine!)
"Schiaparelli and Prada:impossible conversations" è una retrospettiva sull'estrosa Elsa Schiaparelli, troppo poco ricordata stilista italiana e su Miuccia Prada, regina del minimalismo estroso.

L’exhibition si apre con un video, immaginatevi questi 2 geni della moda una di fronte all’altra (Elsa qui impersonata dall'attrice Judy Davis), sedute ai lati opposti di una lunga tavolata, sorseggiato vino ed interrogandosi sul loro modo di concepire ed interpretare la moda.

A loro è dedicata questa stupenda  mostra organizzata dal Met di New York e aperta al pubblico dal 10 maggio fino al 19 Agosto, attraverso la quale potrete vedere quante similitudini le accomunano.

Troverete più di 90 abiti e 30 accessori che raccolgono i pezzi più iconici partendo dagli anni Venti della stilista romana rivale di Coco agli dagli anni 80 di Prada fino a oggi. Accomunate da quell'ugly chic tanto caro alla Signora che vuole «rendere gli uomini più sensibili e le donne più forti». (Interview Magazine).

Un incontro di due donne "difficili" ma molto vicine e simili (nonostante gli anni di distanza), le cui ossessioni si sono trasformate in trend di stagione. Enjoy the video!!!

For the most"careful" readers, probably this post will not be so unexpected! As we told you, we are back to talk about Elsa Schiapparelli with another fashion Icon.
Thanks to a short stay in NY, I was able to visit this exhibition (unfortunatly it was forbidden to take pictures... I have tried but without succes!)
Schiaparelli and Prada impossible conversations "is a retrospective about Elsa Schiaparelli, not much remembered Italian designer, and Miuccia Prada the Queen of minimalism, the lady who wants to "make men more sensitive and stronger than women." (Interview Magazine).

The exhibition opens with a video. Let’s imagine these 2 genius of the fashion world  facing each other (Elsa here personified by the actress Judy Davis), sitting on opposite sides of a long table, sipped wine and questioning the way they have conceived and interpreted fashion.

This wonderful exhibition organized by the Met in New York is opened to the public from May 10 until August 19.

Here you will see more than 90 outfits and 30 accessories that capture the most iconic pieces of Elsa – this Roman designer Coco Chanel’s rival – and Prada. The exhibition features orchestrated conversations between these iconic women to suggest new reading of their masterpieces.

The conversation between  two "difficult" but very close and similar women  (despite the years away), whose obsessions have become season trends!
